The Background 

Kevin Wayne Durant was born in Washington, D.C. He attended the University of Texas before entering the 2007 NBA draft, where he was selected 2nd overall by the Seattle SuperSonics, which then became the Oklahoma City Thunder. Below are some achievements and awards that KD has won.

Pre-Injury

Before the devestating injury, Kevin Durant was a superstar in the NBA. When KD joined the Golden State Warriors, one of the greatest superteams was created with Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thomspon and Draymond Green. In the 2018-2019 season, the Warriors looked ready with back to back championships. During the regular season, they displayed an impressive record, emphasizing their determination and their skills such as their ability to have various scorers that can shoot from anywhere.

The Injury

Kevin Durant’s injury occurred during the 2019 NBA Finals facing the Toronto Raptors, Durant was making a comeback after nursing a calf injury, and the anticipation was palpable. However, when Durant attempted a move something terrible happened. His Achilles tendon ruptured, and everyone was in shock as one of the main players in the Warriors got injured. The Achilles injury is known for its severity, causing a very long recovery period. Durant underwent surgery on June 12, 2019, facing an estimated recovery time of more than a year, including extensive rehabilitation. The injury had a profound impact, and the Warriors ultimately lost to the Raptors in the 6th game of the NBA Finals.

Post-Injury

Following the devastating injury, KD went onto a challenging journey of recovery. He underwent rehabilitation, including the use of specialized equipment and techniques. His determination and mentality were evident as he fought to regain his strength and agility. In the 2019-2020 season, Durant left the Warriors to join the Brooklyn Nets. However, he was forced to sit out the entire season to allow for full recovery. The anticipation was high as fans eagerly awaited his return to the court. During the following year when Kevin Durant’s journey took him through the Brooklyn Nets, we all expected a superteam with Kyrie Irving, James Harden and Kevin Durant. However, that was not the case as they didn’t live up to the expectations and all went their own ways to different teams. Ever since, Kevin Durant has joined the Phoniex Suns with superstar Devin Booker and another superstar who recently joined the organization, Bradley Beal. To this day, Kevin Durant is still a superstar and everyone has high hopes for the Suns season this year.
